A Living Legend

CowBoy's of Dothan isn't just a venue — it's a piece of Southern history. Built in 1956 by the Hollingsworth family on Ross Clark Circle, it opened its doors as a modest dancehall with a simple mission: bring great country music to the people of the Wiregrass.

What started as a small gathering place for boot-scooters and honky-tonk lovers quickly grew into something far greater. By the 1960s, CowBoy's was drawing some of the biggest names in country music — artists who would later become household names played on our stage before they filled stadiums.

Through the decades, we've evolved. The original dance floor — still made of the same hard pine boards laid in '56 — now sits beneath a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system. Our capacity has grown from a few hundred to over 2,500. But one thing has never changed: the spirit of CowBoy's of Dothan.

Today, under the stewardship of third-generation owner James "Buck" Hollingsworth, CowBoy's continues its legacy as the premier country entertainment destination in the Southeast. From national chart-toppers to beloved local acts, from Wednesday Ladies Nights to bull riding championships, there's always something extraordinary happening here.

We are more than a bar. We are a community. A tradition. A legend.
